Low Interest Loans
At VFD-Funding, we help municipalities and rural communities find banks, who will make low interest loans to community for shorter terms. These can be used to bridge short-term gaps in necessary financing, refinancing existing debt at a lower rate, or until bonds can be approved, issued and sold. For equipment acquisitions, we usually recommend 301 tax-exempt leases, because they can be achieve for interest rates very close to these low-interest loans the municipality may get, but the leases can be for much longer terms, with lower annual payments. We help you to find banks to make these types of loans. We also work with your municipal solicitor and/or municipal manager, to assemble all of the necessary paperwork, as we pursue the best loan rate for your community. Unlike others, we have funding alternatives that we automatically pursue as "Plan-B". As with our services to volunteer fire departments and EMS services, we do NOT charge any up front fees for pursuing the funding for these types of projects. Additionally, our fees are usually a one time event, which are usually added to the budget of these projects.
