About Us and Our History
In early 2004, Will Griffin sold his administrative and computer consulting business in Nashville, Tennessee and returned to the Pittsburgh, PA area to retire and to catch up with family, after being away for over 25 years. To occupy his time during the week and to attempt to give unemployed and underemployed volunteer firefighters jobs helping other fire departments with grant-writing and other forms of financing, Will formed VFD-Funding to help start a business for these firefighters, to help other firefighters with their funding needs. On October 31, 2005 the first of many web sites, VFD-Funding.com, was purchased and published to the web as the result of these endeavors and a commitment by Will Griffin to help fire departments and municipalities find reliable and inexpensive new and used fire trucks, while also getting the lowest interest rates found anywhere, while also charging fees which were 1/2 or more less than all others in this industry. For over a year, Will worked 18-20 hours per day and 7 days a week, servicing and assisting fire departments customers to acquire new fire trucks, sell their used fire trucks, and also provide any and all financing which was needed. Although none of those who were the persons for whom the company was formed to give employment followed through, Will pursued the business as a commitment to firefighters, to give them a better break on prices and more options to acquire and finance their apparatus. Will continued to to reinvest into VFD-Funding, by acquiring over 40 more web sites and developing them and their search engine rankings. These web sites all reflected the ability of Will Griffin to finance any fire department and municipality. In 2006, more professional staff were hired throughout the USA to help with the large volume of customers seeking financing, new fire trucks and to find a source to help sell their used apparatus and equipment. This new staff was hired to help with the large volume of customers seeking financing, new fire trucks and to find a source to help sell their used apparatus and equipment. 2007 brought continue growth in staff, financing capacities, a global ability to sell and finance fire apparatus and ambulances, vendors, and the number of banks and other financing allies. 2007 also brought the formation of Will Griffin Fire and the creation of two additional companies, in addition to VFD-Funding. The company and Will Griffin relocated to Daytona Beach, FL In early 2008, once again Will Griffin found himself working as a sole agent of the company, to insure that fire departments were able to acquire reliable and affordable fire trucks and equipment. Today, Will Griffin Fire and all of its subsidiaries including: VFD-Funding Group, VFD-Fire Group and VFD-EMS Group continues our commitment to provide fire departments and municipalities with the lowest financing rates, easiest terms, the best new fire trucks and ambulances at the lowest prices, more effective resources for selling used apparatus and all at the lowest fees and commissions in the industry and again more then 1/2 of what many less effective and lesser dedicated companies offer. VFD-Funding Group and its web sites rank high in the major search engines. As the result, we have a large number of daily visitors, inquiries and sales on a global basis. With our resources and contacts, we have taken sales and market share away from those companies and dealers, who do not provide excellent customer service and prices. All of this as the result of the commitment of the VFD-Funding Group and Will Griffin Fire, to provide reliable and excellent fire trucks, prices and customer service.
