Griffin Fire Grants

    Volunteer and combined fire departments in the USA needing assistance in their processes of acquiring new and used fire trucks, may qualify for further assistance from Will Griffin Fire in the form of a grant.

    Grants range from $500 - $75,000 and may be used for such purposes as:

    1.    Down payment, partial payment, or first years payment assistance,
    2.    Payment/reimbursement of financing costs/fees,
    3.    Apparatus accessories,
    4.    Repairs/Refurbishing/Customizing of apparatus,
    5.    Hose/Nozzles,
    6.    Firefighting Equipment/Tools,
    7.    Thermal Imaging Cameras/Gas Detectors,
    8.    PPE and SCBA,
    9.    Training,
    10.  Any legitimate and reasonable use by the department.

    Grants are determined on the amount needed, amount of financing used (if any), cost of apparatus and other factors.  Grant funds are issued within five (5) days of notice of the grant approval.

    To Qualify:

    1.    Department must be a USA volunteer or combined fire department in operation for over five (5) years.

    2.    Only certified and verified apparatus that is purchased through the VFD-Fire Group and/or financed through the VFD-Funding Group will qualify for Griffin Fire Grants.

    * Grants are calculated in the following ranges of events.

    New Apparatus:  $10,000 - $50,000
    VFD-Funding Financed:  add up to an additional $25,000

    Used Apparatus:  $500 - $2,500
    VFD-Funding Financed:  add up to and additional $2,500

    Do not apply for a grant to purchase a new fire truck from Pierce, E-One, Ferrara, KME or used fire trucks sold through Fenton Fire, Firetec, Company Two, Fire Trucks Plus, or Firelineequipment.  These do not qualify for Griffin Fire Grants.  Only apparatus acquired from web sites in the VFD-Fire Group qualify.

* Final grant amounts are determined by price of apparatus acquired, needs of the purchasing fire department, financial circumstances and the determinations of Will Griffin and the staff of VFD-Fire Group and VFD-Funding Group.
